- Pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup cooked and shredded chicken
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- Olive oil (for brushing)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to the temperature recommended for your pizza dough.
Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
Transfer the rolled-out dough to a pizza stone or a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
In a bowl, mix the shredded chicken with barbecue sauce until evenly coated.
Spread a thin layer of barbecue sauce over the rolled-out pizza dough.
Sprinkle a generous amount of shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
Distribute the barbecue chicken evenly over the cheese.
Scatter thinly sliced red onions on top.
Brush the pizza crust edges with olive oil for a golden crust.
Bake the pizza in the preheated oven according to the pizza dough instructions, usually until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Once out of the oven, sprinkle chopped cilantro over the hot pizza.
Allow the pizza to cool for a few minutes before slicing.
Enjoy your homemade BBQ chicken pizza!
